Support Buttercup Day on 30 June and help the RNOH Charity celebrate 25 years!

Posted by Krissy Brooks on 29 April 2022

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) Charity supporting the amazing work of the RNOH, turns 25 this year. Furthermore, the RNOH is celebrating 100 years at its Stanmore site!

Will you help us to celebrate these important milestones and support Buttercup Day this year on 30 June?

The Buttercup is a symbol of hope and recovery at the RNOH. In the 1930’s young children, undergoing treatment at the RNOH in Stanmore (North London) could be seen picking large yellow bunches of the flowers, benefitting from the sunshine and fresh air, brightening the wards they took them back onto. Every year the RNOH Charity runs a Buttercup Day themed fundraising campaign.

This year for Buttercup Day we have three actions you can take to show your support. Choose one or choose them all. How you help us this year is up to you!

ACTION 1: The Buttercup Day 25 Challenge – an exciting “virtual” fundraising event, enabling you to choose your own activity at your own venue! You can find out more information and register to take part in this event here.

ACTION 2: Buy a flower to treasure forever. Our ceramic Buttercups, designed by artist Clare Twomey MBE, are an exquisite symbol of both fragility and freedom.  Find out how you can pick and purchase your own ceramic Buttercup from our dedicated website here.

ACTION 3: Show your support for the RNOH by making a simple donation. You can do this here

We really do appreciate your support towards this year’s Buttercup Day appeal. THANK YOU.

Together, we can make the impossible possible at the RNOH!
