Thanks to the generosity of RNOH Charity supporters, the first phase of Stanmore’s new outdoor rehabilitation spaces is now complete and a beautiful new allotment is ready for planting, with memories of a dear colleague brought to mind throughout the transformation.
This project was made possible through funding from RNOH Charity Ambassador David Holmes MBE, who donated money raised through the David Holmes Cricket Cup, together with the hard work of RNOH colleagues and the incredible support, materials and expertise provided free of charge by the team at Murphy Group.
Because of the kindness of our donors, fundraisers and volunteers, patients will have access to a dedicated space where they can enjoy the benefits of gardening as part of their rehabilitation, while honouring the memory of a much-loved RNOH colleague.

RNOH Senior Occupational Therapist Jenny Sadikot said: “Through the vision of Occupational Therapist Keren Berkman, this allotment will become a space where patients and colleagues can come together to garden, grow and flourish, fostering wellbeing, confidence, recovery and connections. The allotment is dedicated to the memory of Mick, a much-loved colleague whose kindness, support and friendship left a lasting impact on everyone in our Therapy Department.”

Murphy site manager Mark Simpson said: “It has been a privilege for Murphy to support the RNOH Charity green spaces project. Seeing these areas transformed into accessible, welcoming spaces for patients, staff and visitors has been incredibly rewarding for the team. We are proud to have contributed our time, skills and resources to a project that will have a lasting positive impact on the wellbeing and rehabilitation of those who use the hospital. Working alongside the RNOH team has been a pleasure, and we hope the spaces will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
Thank you to everyone who has donated, fundraised, volunteered and supported RNOH Charity. This wonderful space exists because of you.
