It is with great pride that we send enormous congratulations to our wonderful RNOH Charity Ambassador, David Holmes, on being appointed an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2026.
This prestigious honour recognises David’s exceptional services to charity and his amazing work in film.
Many know David as a former stunt professional and Daniel Radcliffe’s double in the Harry Potter films. Following a severe spinal injury, David spent six months undergoing life-saving treatment here at RNOH in Stanmore.
Since then, David has turned adversity into a powerful vehicle for philanthropy, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for RNOH:
• Spearheading major events like the annual David Holmes Cricket Cup
• Helping fund a six-bed ward expansion and vital medical equipment
• Championing the recent £220,000 Spinal Cord Injury Centre refurbishment
• Donating a specially adapted minibus to help patients regain independence
These vital projects are simply beyond the reach of the hospital’s NHS budget. They are only possible because of RNOH Charity supporters, including incredible people like David, his family and friends.
RNOH Charity CEO Rosie Stolarski celebrated the news: "We are thrilled to see David’s extraordinary dedication recognised with an MBE. David is an inspirational individual, whose resilience, compassion and generosity are matched by his unwavering commitment to supporting others. This honour is thoroughly well-deserved and we are incredibly proud to call David our Ambassador."
Please join us in congratulating David!
