It was a joy to celebrate the first anniversary of the RNOH Imaging Centre in Stanmore this week – a brilliant milestone that showcases the hospital’s true excellence in patient care. The centre combines state-of-the-art scanners provided by RNOH Charity, which give faster, clearer imaging with significantly reduced radiation doses, with a highly skilled team trained to operate some of the most advanced equipment of its kind in the NHS.
Over the past year, the Imaging Centre team has embraced the new technology to enhance the patient experience, reduce waiting times, transform diagnostic pathways, and enable new research. The service now stands as a powerful example of the innovation and collaboration that define RNOH and those at the anniversary celebration were privileged to receive a guided tour of the facilities.
Professor Paul Fish, RNOH Chief Executive, said that not only does the centre look amazing but that the upgrade to the service had completely changed the patient pathway. “It is making sure we get diagnostics much, much quicker,” he explained. Professor Fish also thanked RNOH Charity supporters, saying: “We literally wouldn’t have been able to do this without you.”
Kristin Gustafsen, Unit Director of Operations for Patient Access and Clinical Support Services, celebrated the streamlined operation and said the department had plans to make the service even better. She also thanked RNOH Charity supporters: “The Charity has been really, really important – it’s been amazing that through their donors, they have been able to give us this equipment that we have.”
Congratulations to everyone whose hard work and commitment have helped to deliver such an outstanding transformation in imaging services.
