The walls of RNOH have a new look thanks to our refreshed displays of artwork throughout The Stanmore Building. From calming colours to imaginative formations, each new painting helps elevate the hospital into a place of healing for body and mind. We send sincere thanks to London gallery Hauser & Wirth for their generous loan of these pieces and to RNOH Charity’s Royal Patron, HRH Princess Eugenie, for her thoughtful curation of the work on show.
Art in healthcare does more than brighten the environment. Research has shown that viewing art can reduce stress, lower blood pressure and ease anxiety for patients, visitors and staff alike.
The right visual surroundings can help patients feel more positive and recover faster. For staff, art provides a moment of calm amid busy clinical settings, and it’s hoped that family and friends will be able to take time out, enjoy the pieces and feel refreshed as they support their loved ones.
We’d also like to offer our thanks to everyone who helped bring these displays to life – from the artists to the teams who made installation possible. You have helped us make RNOH a brighter, more welcoming place for everyone who comes through our doors.
Please look out for the new displays if you come to visit.
