Our Summer Appeal is live!

Our Summer Appeal is live!

Posted by June Heath on 15 July 2025

Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions affect more than 20 million people in the UK.¹ That’s one in three of us! From severe back-pain and rare cancers to deformity and chronic arthritis, these problems can affect the joints, bones and muscles, and sometimes tissues, such as our nerves. To help, RNOH Charity supports pioneering research, cutting-edge treatments and comprehensive patient care. By funding these crucial areas, we are helping RNOH to transform lives, offering patients the chance to heal and thrive. We are therefore very grateful to RNOH Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Professor John Skinner for supporting our Summer Appeal this year.

Charity funds allow RNOH to remain at the forefront of medical excellence, supporting not only operations and procedures but also the life-saving research and equipment that mean the hospital can tackle complex challenges in orthopaedic health. Professor Skinner explains: “RNOH is a place where extraordinary things happen. We are doing things that no other hospital in the UK can do. But being extraordinary needs extra investment.”

At RNOH Charity, we’re working hard to raise these additional funds: to provide more surgical equipment, support rehabilitation services that can help people return to daily life and purchase cutting-edge devices that significantly reduce patient waiting times. RNOH Charity also funds vital research into new treatments, helps to look after staff wellbeing and funds the wonderful hospital Volunteer Service with its much-loved patient buggy. And we want to keep doing more!

Every donation towards our appeal really will help RNOH continue to provide the very best treatment and care for all patients, families and staff, enabling the hospital to go beyond the limitations of an NHS budget and keep changing lives.
