June is Scoliosis Awareness Month – a time to shine a light on the experience of those living with scoliosis. Young patients can require frequent scans to monitor their progression and to plan surgery. RNOH Charity is helping to make that easier by providing access to modern scanners that can cut waiting times, reduce radiation and help surgeons plan for the best treatment outcomes.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, RNOH now has a cutting-edge scanner known as the EOSedge. This vital technology is transforming care by allowing more patients to be seen sooner and at significantly lower radiation doses. Even better, the EOSedge can scan the front and side of the body at the same time, giving doctors a more complete picture in seconds, while the patient simply stands beside the machine. This means easier and shorter appointments.
Together, we’re making a real difference and this month, we’re sending a special salute to everyone on the scoliosis journey and those who support them.
Thanks to our wonderful fundraisers, patients Mason and Molly, for their incredible celebration of recovery and to Stephanie Belton Photography for this lovely picture of them completing their recent race for us.
