The Buttercup Walk

**We are currently reviewing our events for this year and are looking at doing something different in place of the Buttercup Walk. We will be in touch in due course**

About the day

Attractions and entertainments on offer include:

• Children's rides
• A wide range of stalls*
• A raffle
• Live band
• A dog show run by Medivet Stanmore - please register your dogs on arrival.

The walk is not a race, and participants can complete some or all of the course, at their own pace and in their own way. We appreciate that some people may not feel able to undertake the walk themselves; if this is the case, you may wish to nominate someone to walk on your behalf.

*If you wish to hire a stall for the day, please contact us:

How does the Walk help the RNOH?

Funds generated by the Buttercup Walk are distributed across the hospital for the direct improvement of facilities and patient care. Since its inception in 2003, the Walk has been a huge success, raising over£500,000 making it possible to:

  • Set up a baby hips clinic, complete with a brand new ultrasound machine specifically designed for babies and young infants so that they could be diagnosed and treated in a comforting environment designed for their needs
  • Purchase customised chairs to allow scoliosis patients to be x-rayed more comfortably
  • Purchase specialist play equipment for the children’s ward; communication aids to assist our patients with special needs
  • Purchase pelvic harnesses used in the treatment of hip dysplasia in young infants
  • And most recently purchase a modern fluoroscopy machine to replace the hospital’ old machine, allowing for non-invasive treatment and quicker diagnosis

All of the money raised from this year’s walk will go towards projects that enhance patient care at the RNOH.
